LOOK&ROLL On the go
Latest

Even after the festival, look&roll remains present — and goes mobile: With look&roll on the go, we bring selected short films from the festival program to other cities in German-speaking Switzerland, abroad, remote regions and smaller institutions. This gives people access to our programs who would otherwise hardly have the opportunity to visit the festival locally.

We are out and about in dormitories, schools, disability organizations, bookstores and many other institutions. Our events not only create special cinema experiences, but also encourage dialogue.

Numerous event partners and institutions use look&roll on the go to create barrier-free events together — and to offer film contributions a platform that respectfully and authentically depicts life with disabilities. In this way, the project actively contributes to bringing the topics of inclusion, disabilities, chronic diseases and neurodivergence into society in the long term.

Information about the film:

Moses Holding
Director: Rivkah Beth Medow / Jen Rainin
USA, 2022, doc., 17 min., OV/d

For Broadway performer Randi, the birth of her son was first a triumph, then a shock: when doctors discovered that Moses was born with a severe disability, Randi plunged into deep sorrow before she discovered a new language with which she could learn to love her son. Randi's story links family, queerness and disability with vulnerability. The documentary sheds light on the often invisible story of the caregiver, which can be accompanied by unspoken feelings of shame.
