Coexist
Komeil Soheili

In the midst of spectacular landscape shots, this film approaches the life of an extraordinary old man. Dela is blind and he is the captain of a fishing boat on the island of Hormuz in southern Iran. Dela naturally plays an unusual role in fishing. How closely he is connected to the landscape and the sea is shown, among other things, when he produces his special paste.
2nd jury prize of CHF 1,500
La acampada
Afioco Gnecco / Enrique Cervantes

Leo is a 13-year-old boy who has been taking care of his mother for some time. She is struggling with severe depression and is barely able to cope with her everyday life anymore. An upcoming school trip seems to be further straining the situation: While Leo is uncertain whether he can leave his mother alone, she tries to pull herself together with her last strength. Filmed from both perspectives, the film reveals the dynamics of a mother-child relationship in which roles have reversed due to illness.
1st jury prize of CHF 4,000
Gioia
Laura Stek

In her psychosis, Gioia experienced the most beautiful dreams and the darkest nightmares. Now she feels anchored in the everyday world through a stable life. Anything that suggests exuberance or intensity has become a potential threat. Gioia had to be admitted several times due to a manic episode caused by her bipolar disorder. In order not to end up in the hospital again, she is now paying attention to regulated structures. But where is there still room for imagination? A dance documentary that explores the limits of fantasy and reality.
