The Men of Atalissa

The documentation of a scandal that was uncovered in the USA in 2009 and came to a preliminary conclusion with a court ruling. A turkey farm exploited 32 men with learning disabilities in unimaginable ways for over 30 years. Almost without pay and in unspeakable living conditions, they are watched by incompetent and rough supervisors and have to remove up to 28,000 slaughtered turkeys with their bare hands every day. The film is based on court documents and internal company documents. For the first time, it offers former workers the opportunity to speak publicly.
