“I wanted to show a scene from my life: a meeting in the psychiatric ward. The idea comes from a chronic feeling of powerlessness in the face of my brother's illness and the struggle with the healthcare system. My brother has been suffering from schizophrenia for over 20 years and I have had numerous meetings like this. I wanted to capture powerlessness from the patient's perspective and show how entrenched bureaucracy amplifies the suffering of those it is trying to heal. As the meeting progresses, the discrepancy between the patient's needs and the bureaucratic problems grows noticeably.” — Director Ellen Ugelstad
