L’année du robot

At the interface of art and science, this film shows a robot as an artificial counterpart of humans. Archival footage of initial contact and dialogue between a robot equipped with artificially generated autonomy and humans explore cognitive dissonance, an inconspicuous and mysterious gap between the two actors. The focus is on older people, some with Alzheimer's or dementia and young adults with autism. After the initial surprise, the residents of the home try to get closer to each other despite the artificial nature of their counterpart.
