Iktamuli shows the conflict between motherly love and rejection, the trust and alienation between parents and children. A mother talks about life with her son Tony, who lives with trisomy 21. Everyday scenes of mother and son drift off into the mother's emotional world: rejection and sorrow, but also joy and longing. It is a great challenge for the mother to accept her son as he is. All she can do is change her view of her son. The film scenes are mounted associatively. They follow the logic of the mother's experience, whose voice can be heard as an “inner monologue.”
