With 27 short sequences, Mike Hoolboom remembers his father, who died in June 2017. From family films, snapshots and archival material, the result is a portrait of an extremely clever but also elusive man who was shaped not least by a war in which his own father was sent to a concentration camp. This political narrative, in which dreams alternate with very personal memories, may seem incoherent at first, but the first impression can be deceptive.
